Size Guide

Our clothing comes from overseas manufacturers, and each size label follows that manufacturer's sizing. Their labels can differ from the North American sizes you're used to, so the most reliable way to choose is to compare measurements rather than go by the label alone.

What the charts on our product pages show

  • Garment measurements, not body measurements. Each chart shows the size of the clothing itself, as measured by the manufacturer.
  • Bust, waist and hip go all the way around. They're normally the full measurement around the garment. If you measure a piece lying flat, double your across measurement before you compare.
  • Centimetres first. Inches are converted from centimetres and rounded to the nearest half inch.
  • Allow a small difference. Garments are measured by hand, so the piece you receive can differ by about 2–3 cm (1") from the chart.

The easiest way to choose: compare with something you own

  1. Pick a piece from your closet that fits the way you like and is a similar style, such as a sweater to compare with a sweater.
  2. Lay it flat on a table, smooth it out, and do up any buttons or zips.
  3. Measure it as described below, using a soft tape measure or a ruler.
  4. Compare your numbers with the chart on the product page and choose the size closest to your piece.

How to measure a garment

Measurement How to measure the piece lying flat
Bust Straight across from armpit to armpit, then double it.
Waist Straight across at the narrowest point, or along the top edge of pants, shorts and skirts, then double it. Measure elastic waists without stretching them.
Hip Straight across at the widest part of the lower half, then double it.
Shoulder From one shoulder seam to the other, across the back.
Sleeve From the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff.
Length Tops, dresses and coats: from the highest point of the shoulder, beside the collar, straight down to the hem. Pants and shorts: from the top of the waistband down to the hem.
Inseam From the crotch seam down the inside of the leg to the hem.
Rise From the crotch seam up to the top of the waistband, at the front or the back.
Thigh and leg opening Across one leg just below the crotch (thigh), or across the hem of one leg (leg opening). Manufacturers don't always show these the same way, so if a number looks very different from your own piece, email us and we'll check with our supplier.

If you'd rather use your body measurements

Measure over light clothing with a soft tape measure, keeping it snug but not tight:

  • Bust: around the fullest part of your chest.
  • Waist: around your natural waist, the narrowest part of your torso.
  • Hips: around the fullest part of your hips.

A garment needs to be larger than your body to fit comfortably, except for stretchy, close-fitting pieces. How much larger depends on the style and how loose you like it, which is why comparing with a piece you own is usually more reliable.

Notes on size labels

  • A few items are listed in both XXL and 2XL, or both 3XL and XXXL. We haven't confirmed that these are the same size, so check that product's page and email us before ordering one of them.
  • Some styles don't have a chart from the manufacturer yet, and their product pages say so. Email us and we'll ask our supplier for the measurements of the size you're considering.
